I was born in Methuen, Massachusetts and moved around 13 times growing up. My father was trained as an engineer and worked for the phone company and my mother worked as a dental hygienist. I spent most of my early years in New England, New York and New Jersey. I have two older brothers, one that I lived with. After college, I moved to NY and worked for a non-profit organization for a year that had a profound effect on me.
Everything changed late one March night in 2010. At 3 o'clock in the morning, on a busy street in downtown Nashville, I was jumped by a group of 6 men who knocked me unconscious and left me in the street. My head split open as I fell off the sidewalk and I awoke to find myself in the hospital, lucky to be alive. More than that, I awoke a changed person with a new vision for life, music, and the world. Minutes from death, I found the catharsis that I'd been looking for. My rebirth was rooted in celebration, joy, and living. This was my chance for redemption.
Teamed with my now close friend and spiritual guru Mike Shimshack, I've spent the time and written songs that are real to me. Songs that mean something to me and hopefully to the people that listen to them. I want to be great and do something great in this world. I want to put it all out there. The raw and the ridiculous. The ruthless and the real. I want to live a life where I can be the fullest version of myself. The good and the bad. I want to be a better person to the people that I love in my life. I want to do things that have lasting meaning and significance. Someone who tries to live fully and from the heart. I want to create a path for other artists to do charitable work and further their careers in an environmentally sustainable way. This is a journey through my life. Awaking to the moment. The heavy and the absurd. I want to connect these songs to people in the most life-affirming way possible. Embracing my flaws and working to become a better person. I want to be able to connect people at shows for an opportunity to meet other good people. A community of people working to help each other. A family for people to feel a part of. With all of us leaving, having taken care of the world and each other.
Hi! My name is Kasey. I am a New York based actress and a singer-songwiter. I was born and raised in East Tennessee. I love tacos, margaritas, traveling, family and well, a lot of other things. I am happy that you are here to find out about my life as a performer. Thank you for your interest!
I am thrilled to announce the release of my DEBUT EP!! What a whirlwind of emotions THAT was! (excited, scared, stressed, anxious, giddy, but mostly PROUD!) When I moved to New York to pursue acting I had no idea that creating music was in my future, but I am very happy to find out that it was. The songs on this album are little snapshots of emotions I have felt over the past few years. They touch on love, loss and what goes on in my head when I am waitressing ;) Each song has a special meaning to me and I am looking forward to sharing this EP with you. I hope you will check it out!
