A four piece progressive funk-rock band native to Charleston SC, Schema originated as four good friends playing music for fun. The quartet is originally comprised of Adam Coyne and Ryan Bresnihan on guitars, Matt Jackson on bass, and Jay Norton on drums; with the recent addition of JP Treadaway on drums and percussion. Schema quickly built a strong following in the Charleston area, making their debut at the Charleston Pour House in early 2012. They are perhaps best known for their energetic improv and live performances. The band weaves improvisation into all of their live music, ensuring that each show is as new and exciting as the last. Schema takes a unique approach to their improv, largely relying on their chemistry and communication; requiring each member to be listening intently and ready to react on the fly. Drawing on influences from a wide array of music including, but not limited to instrumental, jam band, jazz, fusion, rock n roll, metal, and electronica. After years of gigging and writing music, it's safe to say that Schema has made a name for themselves in the Charleston music scene, with a fan base that continues to grow every week.
